I have been going to Rugby Park since the 70’s. I was a big fan of the Derrick McDicken wave. I sit in the Frank Beattie stand now but miss the old terracing. If money were no object I would definitely support safe standing at the Theatre of Pies.
There have been many ups and downs since then which makes the good times even sweeter. Highlights for me outside the cup wins were the European trips. The stand out one for me was Sigma Olomouc. Travelled there on the supporters’ bus – happy days!
I have worked mainly in the voluntary sector encouraging community engagement, empowerment and participation. I worked with Supporters Direct Scotland for five years helping fans to get a bigger say in the running of their club and supporting them to deliver community projects in conjunction the club. I am currently a Community Worker with East Ayrshire Council.
I have been involved with the Killie Trust off and on since its conception in 2003. I have recently been co-opted onto the Board January 2017) and am really looking forward to getting involved in the Trust in Killie initiative.
